Hairspray Live! follows teenager Tracy Turnblad in 1962 Baltimore as she fulfills her dream of dancing on a local TV show. After becoming an overnight celebrity, Tracy uses her newfound fame to campaign for the integration of the all-white program. She faces opposition from the show's producers but is supported by her friends, her parents, and the community.
